Breath-taking Nightmare
It was 27th day of March after the tribute party that we conducted for the graduating class of our course when I decide to go back in the province with my mother to have my vacation. I’m pretty excited that day because I really want to go back there since I miss home too much.
It was around 4 in the afternoon when we got to the port. We missed the ship that supposedly we will be conveying. Thus, we took the last trip that has 6 pm departure time. It’s quite long to wait that’s why when we checked in; I spent my time reading my book. The story of the book I am reading is about adventures that’s why I can’t stop reading it.
By the time we got into the ship, I was confident that it will be a safe and sound trip because the ocean is calm and worry-free for big waves. I continue reading and have some talk with my mom. She took a rest because of tiredness so I stick to what I am reading that made me feel that I am in the story.
One hour passed and I felt the excitement because I’m getting nearer to the province. But the calmness of the sea broke by the big waves. It catches my attention and made me stop from reading. I tried to focus on my book to ignore what we are experiencing with the thought that we are about to reach the shore. I looked at my watch and realized that one and a half hours had passed and the steward told us that we’re far yet from the coast. Random thoughts were running to my mind that time and I’m worried that sometime wrong might happen to us.
Big waves were coming against us and it made the ship rises up and down like a roller coaster. There’s a kind of feeling that the ship might shrink or flip anytime. Every wave that came across us was taking our breath away. It made me stood up just to catch my breath. In my mind I am shouting for mercy, praying for help from our father above. I closed my eyes thinking that it would help me to feel relaxed and not to be scared.
Our journey continues as we struggle to the big waves that were getting worst as it became bigger. I am convincing myself that everything going to be fine, that God is with us and he will never let us suffer for that. The stewards are giving plastic bags for the people who want to puke. I looked out the window but all I can see is darkness from outside. I can feel the heavy rain as the rain drops were falling to the window. I can hear the waves splashing and hitting the veranda of the ship. I hold my hands tightly on the grip of my seat to feel secure and my mom told me; “relax, it will be over soon.” Her words calm me down.
I saw the nuns in the front seat praying, saying prayers aloud. Ladies on 40s on my back also pleads for mercy from God, begging him to save us from this trip. On the back, I heard the children crying. I want to do something to help them but what will it be? I felt pity for them. They’re too young to experience this. My tears about to fall I’m getting weak as I saw people vomiting everywhere I looked. I hugged my mom to get some strength from her. I felt safer with her embrace as I closed my eyes and pray not only for me and my mom but also to the other people on board. I gave a prayer for the young ones and the old ones; to the people who has a family waiting for them back home.
Two hours passed and the water was calming. With a mirage of hope, we saw the lights from the port and that was a sign that the nightmare was over and we had a sigh of relief. We were glad that we arrived safe and overcome the trip which was between life and death.
Another lesson was learned. An experience that surely makes us believe that prayer is the best weapon. Have faith in God and we will be safe. Always think that there will always be a rainbow after the rain.

in my opinion mayroong mga tao na mahilig magbigay ng kanilang OPINYON sa bagay-bagay. siyempre kaya nga may Freedom of expression diba? pero ang iba below-the-belt kung tumira at yung iba di na tama. maaring may punto ang kanyang mga sinsabi at marahil ay malalim ang pinaghu-hugutan.  ako’y walang tinitira o pinatatamaan. binibigay ko lang ang aking OPINYON. hindi naman masama magbigay ng opinyon e, dapat isipin natin kung tama ang ating binabatikos. to be continued…

SUMMER the only time people had the to relax and enjoy different places like beach. it’s the time you go out of town with family or friends. Summer is full fun and adventures. after the stressing days in school, it’s a good feeling to enjoy the summer heat in the provinces or dive and feel the waves splashing on the beach. it’s definitetly great experience. it will be more enjoying if you share these moments with you family, friends, or cousins! but how can you enjoy the best summer experience if there was a bunch of kill joys. those who spoil the fun. they might say they just care for your safety but hey were grown ups and just want to experience the best things of life! i just hope they would realize it. sigh!
